Want to learn how to “kick it up a notch” in bed? Wonder what the best path to get from here to the big O is? The answers might surprise you. Read on and learn some of the ABC’s of OOOO-M-G!

1. Participate in new activities together

How do you rekindle the fire? One of the best ways is to engage in new activities that you haven’t participated in before. The excitement and novelty of it all are strong connections to the same emotions we experience when we start dating, thus strengthening your bond. It doesn’t have to be rock climbing off a five-hundred foot mountain, but anything that takes you in a different direction can really move your relationship needle.

2. Add the element of surprise

Surprise and mystery are two important elements in a new romance and mimicking those same feelings can do wonders for firing up the love furnace. Little things go a long way, and something as simple as a love note hidden in a place your partner will find can be more effective than an elaborate night out. It’s not about how much you’ve spent, but about the thought you’ve put into it.

3. Fire up the adrenaline and fire up the arousal

Remember when you first fell in love? Your blood pumped, your heart fluttered, you were giddy and excited! By doing activities that get you moving and excited, you have a better chance of transferring that energy to other spaces, perhaps even the bedroom!

Working out, going to a theme park and riding a roller coaster or jumping out of an airplane can all do wonderous things to your mood and the bond you have with each other.

4. Take a weekend away

Get out and create memories! Date night, weekends away or even just an afternoon at the beach can provide you with time to clear out your mind and reinvigorate your spirit. You don’t have to go far or spend much in the process to create memories. The point is to get away to somewhere you haven’t been before and do something you haven’t done before!

5. Touch as often as possible

Touch is so incredibly important in reconnecting with each other. It reinforces both emotional and physical bonds that may have begun to wain. Hugging, kissing, touching all have positive effects on your relationship and studies reveal they also help improve stress levels, while making you happier and less anxious in the process.

6. Play

Remember when you were little and you’d run outside and feel the wind in your hair and the grass under your feet? When was the last time you really let yourself go? Between work, finances and the responsibilities of life, we can easily forget to have fun. So whether it’s a tickle fight in the bedroom or a food fight in the kitchen, don’t forget that life is meant to be full of joy, play and happiness.
