Coming up with the perfect mixtape for a night in bed can be a daunting challenge. You want music that has some variety but also lends itself to the mood. We’ve all know what a nightmare it is to create a compilation, and who has the time to go through tons of tracks before the big night?! We do of course!
We set out to create a set list for your night that is full of mood and avoids the stale, tired tracks that everyone has in their mixtapes. The best music melts into the background in an indescribable way that “just works.” Here’s how we did it and you can too…

How We Compiled The Perfect Mixtape For A Romantic Night In Bed
No Chanting
We loved chanting music…in the 90’s, but even though chanting is great for your trip to the Buddhist temple, it just feels played out. We did enjoy “Return to Innocence” by Enigma back in the day, but that was a long time ago…
Heavy on the Ambient Sounds
So you can’t make it to the beach or head to the rainforest, but there is no reason you shouldn’t have some of that same adventurous relaxation in your evening. We chose sounds that are heard in nature and mixed them in with the rest of our soundtrack. The diversion helps to break up the tracks in a natural way. We loaded the end of our compilation with LOTS of nature sounds so that once things get more hot and heavy the music won’t distract from the moment.
Skipped The Rap
In many circles people regard “Me So Horny” as almost classical in the genre, we just don’t think it conveys the right tone for MOST sexual encounters. It really doesn’t belong in most bed-time mixtapes, much less our “perfect mixtape.” Unless the two of you met at a 2 Live Crew reunion concert, you may want to dodge this bullet entirely.
International Flavor
The tracks included have music from France, Ireland and Spain. The goal – to really feel the music and not have to listen to the words. We love lyrics, but they sometimes get in the way of feeling the moment.
